Long considered one of the best kept trade secrets, Tinsel Trading, now proudly celebrating its 76th year, continues to supply interior designers & decorators, theatre, film, opera, fashion designers, milliners and architects with beautiful and unusual vintage and contemporary embellishments. To our good fortune, Martha Stewart has been one of our biggest fans. We are a constant source for her magazines and her TV show, with Martha frequently mentioning our name on air. In December of 1998, MSTV opened one of her morning holiday programs with a feature on Tinsel Trading. Shot on location at our old store on 38th street, Martha proceeded to share with her viewers her attraction and fascination with Tinsel Trading. Marcia Ceppos (owner of Tinsel Trading ) has been on MSTV 2 more times. We have recently been seen on MSNBC Your Business, where they did a 6 minute segment , interviewing Marcia along with several employees. A segment of Art of Cakes on Style Network featured several of our cake toppers designed for Tinsel Trading by Rosemary Warren We are continuously mentioned in Country Living, Southern Accents, Southern Living, Victoria, Town & Country, Bride’s, Real Simple, Sew News, Gourmet, The New York Times, New York Magazine, Time Out, Women’s Day and Good House Keeping. The fashion designers of 7th Avenue have long known about us also. Our clientele includes top designers like Ralph Lauren, John Galliano of Dior, Anna Sui, Jill Stuart , Zac Posen to name a few. The list goes on to designers in other fields such Michael Graves, and Peter Marino AIA, Kate Spade, Gerard Yosca, Wendy Addison and Madame Alexander Doll Co. We have also been a favored resource of costume designers for film, stage and television for years. Our trims have been used in movies such as Dreamgirls, the Ocean's Eleven - Thirteen series ,Sweeney Todd , Pirates of the Carribean , The Patriot, and Terminator Salvation Our trims adorn the costumes of Broadway shows like Mary Poppins ,Phantom of the Opera, Spamalot, Wicked, Shrek the Musical and Guys and Dolls. Opera and Ballet costumers from around the world come to shop in our treasure trove as well. Our customers come from every industry imaginable. Our repertoire also includes fisherman for flytying, jewelry and stationery designers, milliners, military re-enactors and of course people with the desire to have fun and create for themselves.
